Jodhpur is one of the largest cities of Rajasthan state. The city has a history of ancient times way back from the 14th century. One of the major attractions of the city is Mehrangarh Fort.

Mehrangarh fort overview
Mehrangarh Fort was built by Rao Jodha in 1459. The fort is built on at the height of 410 feet from the skyline. The fort has 7 gates, however, all of them are not open for common people right now.
The main gate is very giant and has spikes on it. When you enter the fort, you will be welcomed by the Shehnai music played by the local musicians sitting on the gate to greet you. Few of them may be doing a folk dance.
The fort has a museum that is very well maintained. You need to purchase tickets if you wanna visit the museum which is worth it if you are a first-time visitor to the fort.
The museum has different galleries named Armory, Palanquins, Elephant’s howdahs, Daulat Khana, Paintings and the Turban Gallery.
The must-watch inside the museum is Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, and Phool Mahal.
The fort also provides you to get relaxed and have a coffee or lunch if you are hungry. There are different restaurants inside the fort to serve you.
There is no entry fee or charges just to visit the fort, or to visit the Chamundi Mata temple.

If you are planning to visit any part of Rajasthan, then plan your trip between September to March. Rajasthan is a very hot state and after March, the mercury rises and it goes up to 46 degrees C. The winter is the best season to visit as a foreign tourist. The weather remains cool and pleasant and you can roam around.

Chamunda Mata Temple: This is the temple built by King Rao Jodha. A place where you can feel peace. You can view the blue Jodhpur city from the windows beside the temple. You will feel the breeze coming through the window.
Cannon view: This is the best place to make some clicks on your cameras and take good selfies. The cannon is placed as they are ready to be loaded and fire if sited any danger.
About the fort: Mehrangarh fort is one of the largest forts in India. The fort is standing on a perpendicular cliff more than 400 feet above the skyline. It was built in around 1459 by Rao Jodha. The city is named after him.
